Last year, Dan Levitan had explained to us in detail the work of Hammerhead on GANGSTER SQUAD. He then worked on the effects of THE HANGOVER PART III and HEAVEN IS FOR REAL.

For the 4th years of The Art of VFX, I decided to offer you new content and mostly editorial contents. This first article "Look back on 2013 and the expectations for 2014" is the first step. I hope you will find it interesting.

Having worked for many years at Pacific Data Images (PDI) on projects such as TOYS, TRUE LIES or NATURAL BORN KILLERS, Rebecca Marie founded Hammerhead in 1995 with Jamie Dixon, Thad Beier and Dan Chuba. She has participated in very many movies including TITANIC, DEEP BLUE SEA, X2, WANTED or THE BOOK OF ELI.

Dan Levitan began his career in visual effects at Cinesite Hollywood in 1994 and worked on films like WATERWORLD, GATTACA or PLEASANTVILLE. He then worked at Dream Quest Images, CIS Hollywood, Digital Dimension and Hammerhead. As VFX supervisor, he worked on movies such as SALT, THE HANGOVER PART II or FRIGHT NIGHT.

Jamie Dixon is a true pioneer in the world of visual effects. He was one of the first employees at Pacific Data Images in 1985. His wire removal on TERMINATOR 2 was one of the first and same thing about the morphing on the faces for the music video BLACK & WHITE of Michael Jackson. He founded Hammerhead in 1995, with Dan Chuba, Thad Beier and Rebecca Marie, and work on many films such as TRUE LIES, TITANIC, X-MEN, THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK or WANTED.
